Region: Barbagia, Supramonte

The Voragine di Tiscali is a cave in the Tiscali mountain where a ray of direct sunlight comes in through a hole in the ceiling. This extraordinary phenomenon takes place only in the summer months and lasts for about an hour a day. A perfect excursion fo a hot summer day, where in just over 30 minutes we reach the cool air of the cave.

From where we can park the Land Rover to the cave is an easy 40 minute hike through the canyon of Corrojos in the Lanaitto valley. During the hike you can admire the carsic formations of the rock, and a narrow track eventually brings you to bottom of the canyon where the opening of the cave is. The cave isn't lit with artificial light, so to get in there you need helmets with lights.

The access to the cave is easy and 5 minutes from the entrance we get into a big room, about 70 meters high. The spectacular ray of sunlight will start to come in through a hole in the roof and make its course through the cave lighting up the natural bridge and the stalagmites before leaving the cave again.
